CJ and United got approval for generic Zyvox

CJ Healthcare and United Pharma got marketing approval for their generic version of Zyvox, according to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on May 19.

Zyvox is available as a tablet and an injection. CJ’s generic version is an injection and United’s is a tablet.

Zyvox sales were 8 billion won last year according to IMS Data. Zyvox sales more than doubled in 2013, compared to those four years ago.

Youngjin and Hanall also conducted bioequivalence testing for their generic versions. Dong-A is also conducting a clinical study for its new antibiotic to treat superbug infections.
