The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) selected five more pharmaceutical companies as innovative drugmakers on November 21. The five companies are Huons, Dream Pharma, KAEL-Gemvax, Genexine, and Sanofi-Aventis Korea.

The MOHW appreciated Huons’s exports to U.S., Japan and China and highly evaluated Huons’s researchers, manufacturing facilities, and patents.

Dream Pharma was chosen because its pipeline was solid for the global market. KAEL-Gemvax was selected as it developed a new biological product recently.

The MOHW said Genexin’s researchers, manufacturing facilities, strategies, pipelines, and patents were excellent.

Sanofi-Aventis Korea became the second multinational pharmaceutical company with the government’s seal of innovation after Otsuka Korea.

The MOHW will decide soon whether to renew the government’s seal of innovation for the pharmaceutical companies selected in 2012.
