The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety recalled Dongbang’s Gingkomin 80mg and Gingkomin Plus 120mg as it found that their product quality is inappropriate.

The MOFDS recently started checking the quality of pharmaceutical products whose manufacturers frequently closed the manufacturing facilities. Dongbang was one of them.

The MOFDS checked the quality of Gingkomin stored in its warehouse and found that the stored products didn’t have enough amounts of active ingredients and their weights were less than normal.

When the MOFDS collected some of distributed products at pharmacies and checked the quality later, it found the results were the same.

The recalled lots of Gingkomin 80mg are 86001, 86002, 86003, 86004, 86006, 83006, 86014, 83002, 83003. The recalled lots of Gingkomin Plus 120mg are 17189, 17102, 17103, and 17401.

Administrative punishment will be imposed on Dongbang next year. Dongbang is being still investigated about repackaging products. The investigation will take additional 1 to 2 months.
